About the Class

In the Small Business Coaching and Entrepreneur Master Class, you will learn to coach small business owners both one-on-one and within small groups. You’ll use a model designed and tested by nationally recognized small business coach, Anne Durand. She is well known in the business world, in part, for the successful groups she has offered to small business owners.

To this MasterClass, Anne brings not only her widely successful coaching experience and coach-training experience, but also her exceptional first-hand, real-world experience as the owner of an award-winning small business– a glass art gallery.

Did you know that every year over a million people in this country start a business? According to the Department of Commerce, by the end of the first year at least 40% have closed. Within 5 years, more than 80% will have failed. Of those remaining small businesses that survived the first five years, 80% will fail in the next five.

These alarming statistics point out a vast unmet need for coaching geared to small business owners.

The Small Business and Entrepreneur Master Class will focus on teaching you how to attract small business owners and how to work with them to design a strategy for their success.

In this class you will:

• discuss the characteristics of the entrepreneur
• focus on the importance for the business plan
• identify issues unique to small business owners
• interview a successful small business owner
• collate resources and hear from representatives of small business development organizations
• learn a model to use in group-coaching small business owners
• discuss in detail the curriculum for eight weekly sessions with entrepreneurs
• learn a variety of marketing strategies
• have knowledgeable guest leaders for the class (all of whom are experts in areas covered in our curriculum)
• benefit from bonus classes and interviews with successful business coaches who will share strategies and insights that they wish they had known when they were first starting their business-coaching practices

Board Continuing Education (CEs)

Graduates of this class will be able to earn twelve hours of CEs for Marriage and Family Therapists in California (CA BBS). The CE administration fee is $75. CEs for psychologists (APA) are not provided for this class.

To receive credit for CEs, students must pay the CE fee and be present for 10 of the 12 class hours. Listening to the class by recording does not count toward the attendance requirement for receiving CEs.

Note: The CE fee applies only if you are a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and need CEs from this organization. Otherwise, when you register, indicate that you do not need to pay the CE fee when you register.

CE FEE: When you register for the class, if you want CEs, click on the drop down menu next to “Add CE’s”. There will be a $75 administrative fee for your CEs.

ICF Coach Continuing Education

MentorCoach is an International Coaching Federation (ICF) Accredited Coach Training Program. This class provides ICF Continuing Coach Education (Core Competencies). There is a $20 fee for ICF CCEs. To receive credit for ICF CCEs, students must be present for 10 of the 12 class hours. Listening to the class by recording does not count toward the attendance requirement for receiving ICF CCEs.

MentorCoach Certification

Provides 12 MentorCoach Certification Student Learning Hours. To receive credit toward MentorCoach certification, students must be counted present for 10 of the 12 class hours. Listening to the class by recording does not count toward the attendance requirement for certification or continuing education.

Refund Policy

You may withdraw your registration at any time before the beginning of the second class and receive a full refund. You are responsible for the full tuition amount if you do not withdraw before the beginning of the second class.
