1. About the Course Title
This course has been crafted to complement the variety of master classes available to students from MentorCoach®. The specific emphasis of this course is to provide relevant material for professional coaches who are working with clients in the areas of career coaching and career development.
Career Coaching: FINDing Pathways to Purpose has been developed around four foundational pillars to guide students through this course. Each of the four pillars identifies an aspect of career coaching work, and will include relevant supporting material, theories and exercises to employ with a client at that stage. This career coaching construct should be used to inform the professional coach in how to support the client in each of these stages.
F: Frame (of reference): Creating clarity on the goal and gaps for your client in the career coaching sessions
I: Illuminate: Bringing awareness into the coaching conversation to inform client’s career path
N: Navigate: Strategically exploring and preparing various assessments and tools to create awareness and move client into action
D: Deliver: Crafting actions that align with client’s values, beliefs and goals to advance career goals
2. About Career Coaching: FINDing Pathways to Purpose
Michelle and Foster began constructing this course by pursuing two questions:
In the context of today’s world, what is known to work in moving forward in a career trajectory that supports a positivity-fueled lifestyle? How do we help our clients live the good life?
This course will empower coaches to hit the ground running with the skills learned therein. You will be ready to take on any career coaching client, while adopting new habits that will quickly get you and your clients on the path to greater success.
In this high-impact, 8-week course, our faculty will help coaches like you avoid common pitfalls. Get the secrets and essential skills of coaching clients in transition, from helping clients broaden their perspectives and what is possible and coaching them to find their purpose. With expertly guided hands-on practice, you’ll gain confidence and know-how you can use right away. You’ll also develop a personalized game plan mapping the steps to help clients reap the rewards of an impactful coaching engagement.
In addition the class will provide you with the opportunity to work with a variety of tools, templates, and guidelines for putting these concepts and methods into action. Ample background readings from the research, practical and theoretical literature will be provided.
