1. ABOUT INTERNET MARKETING FOR COACHES

Coaches spend a lot of time and money learning their trade. Now it's time to market your practice so that you can use your skills . . . and do what you love doing. The question is - where to start? And what strategies are most effective? Websites? Newsletters? Blogs? Does email marketing even still work? Should you spend your time polishing your website copy or chatting on Facebook?

Take websites for instance…websites can be a continuous source of new clients. Or they can be time and money down the drain.

And have you heard the phrase "the money is in the list?" How about "the fortune is in the follow up?" Follow up is critical in any business, especially a service business. It's not your potential client's job to remember you. It's your job to make sure they don't forget you. The problem is, follow-up can be labor intensive.

Want to offer teleclasses? Virtual groups? Group coaching? These programs are fun, and allow you to leverage your time. And they all depend on having a list of people to market to.
The good news is - it doesn't have to be hard! It may seem like a big challenge now, but like most things, it only seems hard until you learn how to do it. And the learning curve on this is pretty doable.

9. Class Recordings

You may need to miss one or more classes. You may find the class to be so invaluable that you wish you could listen to it again and again. Or you may live in Singapore where the class meets at 2:00 am, local time and where you’ll need to listen to every class by recording. Not a problem. Every class is recorded. Within a few days after each class you'll receive a link to the class recording that you can stream (listen to immediately on your computer) or download to an MP3. To protect the confidentiality of your fellow students, you'll be asked to keep these recordings confidential. Some students may listen to all of the lectures by recording at their leisure. We know one well-known Australian professor for whom Chris Peterson's class was taught at 4:00 am local time. He would always end his week by listening to Chris's lectures by recording on Friday evenings, drinking white wine and reclining in his hot tub! So, yes, even if you must miss all or most classes, you’ll have access to everything by recording and by Carol’s private class website. You’ll still be able to email Carol questions. You’ll be good to go! NOTE: Students listening to the class totally by recording, upon documenting their attendance, can earn 12 hours of ICF CCEUs (Resource Development)>

 

10. Coach Certification and Continuing Education

This class is approved for twelve hours of CEs for social workers (NASW pending). Because this course focuses, by definition, entirely on marketing, CEs for licensed counselors (NBCC), Marriage and Family Therapists in California (BBS) or psychologists (APA) are not provided. To receive credit for CEs, students must pay the CE fee and be present for 9.5 classes.

Note: The CE fee applies only if you are a licensed mental health professional in the US and need CEs from NASW. Otherwise, when you register, indicate that you do not need to pay the CE fee by choosing the "Base Unit Price with NO CE's" registration option.

MentorCoach Certification: Because of its exclusive focus on marketing, this class does not provide hours toward MentorCoach Certification.

 

11. ICF Coach Continuing Education

CCE

This class is pending approval for 12 CCEs (Resource Development) from the International Coach Federation for students meeting the class attendance requirement (being present for 80% or 9.5 of the 12 classes) or for students who listen to the classes by recording.. There is no fee for ICF CCEs.

 

12. Refund Policy

You may withdraw your registration at any time before the beginning of the second one hour class and receive a full refund. You are responsible for the full tuition amount if you do not withdraw before the beginning of the second class.

ABOUT CAROL SOLOMON, PhD, MCC
