Alex Linley, PhD

Alex edited (with Stephen Joseph) the volume Positive Psychology in Practice (Wiley, 2004) which was described by Martin Seligman in his foreword as “the cutting edge of positive psychology and the emblem of its future.”

Alex's speaking engagements on positive psychology and its applications take him to audiences throughout the UK, Europe, and the United States. His recent presentations include invited talks given to the International Positive Psychology Summit in Washington, DC; a Positive Psychology Master Class for the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development “Managing Change at Work Conference”; and an invited workshop on “Coaching for Strengths” for the British Psychological Society Special Group in Coaching Psychology.

Alex was a founding member of the European Network for Positive Psychology, and currently serves as an Associate Editor for The Journal of Positive Psychology; The Psychologist; and the International Coaching Psychology Review. He is also serving as Guest Editor for a forthcoming special issue of the International Coaching Psychology Review on positive psychology and coaching psychology. His time outside work is spent with his wife and four children.
